Information is Everything...

>> Usability/UX Testing Notes from Our UX Team

Target Audience

>> The target audience of the SJSU iSchool Website includes: prospective, future students, and current students; school alumni, faculty, and staff; job seeker -- as well as other general audience members and stakeholders (such as investors, institutional partners, university professors, and academic colleagues)...

Design Plan

>> The SJSU iSchool Website follows a good design plan. The overall aesthetic is very clean and pleasing to the eye. Each section of the website is clearly delineated with well-defined "Calls-to-Action" and several highlighted activities to encourage ease of use in click through journeys.

Technologies Utilized

>> The SJSU iSchool Website is designed in a Drupal CMS format with custom CSS style sheets -- as well as: Google analytics insight and tag management; Facebook pixel codes; live chatting capabilities; custom web design themes; and, JavaScript coding.

Interest-Piqued Test

>> The interest of the SJSU iSchool general user is definitely piqued with the inviting alumni photos that directly engage with the viewer with purposeful direct eye-contact and warm smiles. These are NOT boring, run-of-the-mill stock photographs -- but rather portraits of real-world  alumni highlighting diversity, equity, and inclusion to encourage a feeling of "person-organization fit" for ongoing recruitment purposes.

UX Navigational Challenges on the Website...

The main navigational challenges to be addressed in this Usability/UX Study are found once the targeted audience delves a little deeper into the SJSU iSchool Website. So much textually-laden and richly detailed information is sometimes overwhelming to users within the myriad of pages on the comprehensive site. Therefore, visitors are often forced to either create multiple bookmarks and/or customized spreadsheets of pertinent hyperlinks to serve as replacements for more clearly delineated breadcrumbs... Let's take a look at a few UX solutions in our detailed report!
